This exercise is designed to build upon the previous assignment; in developing one’s skills in creating depth and tone in a sketch, and thus refining and enhancing the ability to produce an architectural sketch that is legible.

The above four images may seem identical in terms of subject, composition and tonal values, but this assignment has been truely useful in supplementing the skills learned in Project 1A. Here, I learned the four most common methods of rendering an image with tonal values (lightness or dimness). Clockwise from top left - Crosshatching, Harching, Stippling, Squibbling.

The drawings are done with a 2B pencil on A4 paper block.
