A first-hand conscious experience is important in the understanding and articulation of space. This assessment introduced students to visualization and expression of space through on-site sketching activity on campus.

 

This first assignment introduced us to the the medium of sketching, giving us the tools for us to be able to communicate scenes in visually. Through the medium of charcoal on paper, I have learned the relevant techniques, from composition to rendering to lineweight, required to create a visually enriching and, in terms of content, meaningful sketch.

 

The sketches were done with a 2B pencil on A4 paper block.
