To investigate and explore how spaces are created from the making of architectural elements: architectonics. Upon completion of the project, students should be able to achieve a level of understanding on the works assigned and will be able to apply the idea and concept to Project 2. The idea of using pure and diagrammatic drawing to express the architectural idea would also be incorporated.

The first project of the module was to analyse a certain master's masterpiece. In other words, in groups of 6, we were given a master architect and we were to analyse one of their masterpiece buildings. My group consisting of Anna, Ben, Jason, Joshua, Schani and I were given Walter Gropius' Gropius House in Lincoln, Masschussetts. We were to analyse a variety of aspects about the building, and to find out what exactly made it their "masterpiece".

After analysis, we were to create 12 diagrammatic abstract models that tells and demonstrates the principles behind it. A further requirement would be analytical boards explaining each aspect in detail, as well as a set of architectural drawings about the building.

The models were made with painted model board, the drawings were made on tracing paper with Artline pens and the analytical boards were done on tracing paper with pen and coloured pencil.
